Isle of Arran - Brodick
Brodick is the main settlement on the Isle of Arran, in the
Firth of Clyde,Scotland. It is halfway along the east coast of the
island, in Brodick Bay below Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on
Arran. The name is derived fromNorse roots meaning "Broad Bay".
The harbour receives the main ferry between Arran and the mainland
via Ardrossan. Brodick Castle is a former residence of the Dukes of
Brodick has the island's main ferry terminus (a second, smaller
ferry sails from Lochranza) which connects Brodick to Ardrossan and
thence the national rail network. The ferries are operated by
Caledonian MacBrayne. The MV Caledonian Isles plies this route. The
journey generally takes less than 1 hour. The route is one of the
busiest crossings on the CalMac network, and dolphins and basking
sharks can often be spotted en route.
Brodick is a popular holiday destination and a base for
hill-walking. Tourism provides much of the village's economic base.

Entrance to the driveway is situated three miles from the heart of
Brodick and three miles from Corrie on the A841. Brodick Castle is
just one mile away. The access road is approximately 400m long and
meanders up from the main road to the dwelling, which nestles in the
middle of an idyllic and peaceful oasis, where you can take a well
earned respite and drift away from the trials and tribulations of
the world, into your own private virtual reality. This sanctuary in
the wilds of Arran is abounding with abundant flora and secretive
fauna, yet it is still within easy reach of (if you need it) the
hustle and bustle of life.

left of the building.From the parking area is a decking ramp for
ease of access gently slopping up to the front decking area where
you can sit and relax, taking the weight off your feet and lazily
watch the ferry come and go from Brodick bay or marvel at the
breathtaking views across the Clyde and the North Ayrshire
